Lights, Cambridge, Action!
The spectacular collaborative arts project is here! Help us show even more student support for action on climate change.
TAKE A LOOK AT SUBMISSIONS RECEIVED SO FAR!
In cooperation with Local Action Week, we are challenging each college and student to submit photos on a theme (or other visual media if you're feeling ambitious). We're going to create an inspiring montage of all the images we receive, which will be available as posters or calendars FREE to all contributors next term. And most of all, we're going to send a powerful message that students care about climate change!
This is not limited to expert photographers - this is something for everyone to get involved with! And please feel free to submit as many photos as you want, you don't have to take only one!
The aim is to build up a motivational portfolio of pictures that focus on a central image - Energise Cambridge's iconic little green windmills - with participation from students from all parts of the university. Windmills will be available from green officers and from Energise Cambridge (energisecambridge@gmail.com), and students are encouraged to take them and photograph them in exciting places around their college, department or Cambridge in general. The more recognisable the location the better.
The content of the images is up to you to decide, and we encourage you to get creative. The images can include you and your friends, or just the windmills, or whatever other objects/places/people you wish to include. They don't even have to use the windmills - as long as there's something that connects it to the climate change message! You might want to think about making a poster or banner with an inspiring message, but it's totally not obligatory! The aim is to show that students care about climate change and to display a range of visual media that captures this message. There will be a special prize for the best submission.
To submit, simply email your photo to energisecambridge@gmail.com or upload it below. By submitting, you agree to your media being made available to the public.
