Cambridge's Environmental Policy Review
Submission of evidence to Environmental Policy Review Committee
On the 19th March 2014, Energise Cambridge submitted evidence to the Environmental Policy Review Committee, stating what students want to see in the new Environmental Sustainability Policy - 'Our Vision for a Sustainable Cambridge'. This was a joint effort, combining thoughts and ideas from the workshop we held in December and discussions with other environmental societies and interested students. In total seven environmental student societies endorsed the statement. We also gained support from 3 college JCRs (purely because we ran out of time to ask more) and many individual students.
Here the full submission here!
Thank you to everyone who contributed to the document! We now need to wait to see what the new Policy will look like!

Workshop to develop the University's new environmental policy
The time has come to collate your society's opinions and thoughts about what the NEW Cambridge University Environmental Policy should look like. We invite all Cambridge student environmental societies to help us create a 'Cambridge Student's Environmental Policy'. We think it would be really powerful to submit a joint 'submission of evidence' from all the environmental societies.
Enerigse Cambridge and CUSU Ethical Affairs will be facilitating a workshop to collate your ideas and draft the ambitous policy that we want to see.
When: Thursday 5th December 7:00-8:30pm
Location: Riley Auditorium, Gillespie Centre, Memorial Court, Clare College
Who: Representatives from Cambridge Student Environmental Societies and College Environmental Office Reps
We want to show the University that students expect them to excel and exceed expectations on environmental issues as they do on some many other aspects.
Before the workshop on the 5th December, please discuss the policy with your societies and develop at least two draft statements that you want included in the policy. Make the targets specific, measurable, ambitious yet realistic and time bound. Select a representative to attend the workshop to voice your ideas. After the workshop we will circulate a draft document and ask for comments and approval from all societies that want to be involved.
